The three main reasons why I chose this approach are as follows:
- I prefer traditional books to digital books because this helps kids interpret the concept of print language.
- The ASL storytime is accessible to kids because it enables them to take a closer look at the book. For this reason, it includes two separate videos, one for the book, and the other for the narrator. Also, it is captioned.
- The ASL storytime is bilingual (ASL/English). The sandwich strategy (ASL/English) is chosen for this storytime.
